Hello guys! It’s time to find out new details about the upcoming update in Hero Wars! In our previous article we took a close look at the maps and new mechanics. Today we’ll talk about a most exciting innovation of this mode — Pets!
Pets are rare magical creatures that will become powerful companions for the Guardians of Dominion. Pets will accompany and protect your Heroes in all game modes, so they’ll become an integral part of the Hero Wars gameplay!
What can Pets do?
Each pet has a unique set of skills which are effective for completely different teams. For example, Merlin the Cat buffs Mages, and Fenris the Wolf enhances Heroes that deal physical damage.
Pets are invulnerable: they cannot be attacked or killed during the battle, and their main function is to use Skills. During the battle Pets also gain Energy to use their Ultimate Skills, but unlike Heroes, they gain Energy with time at a stable rate that cannot be affected.
Each Pet will be able to additionally enhance one Hero, and the choice is yours! This special bond will play an important role in the battle mechanics and will be called Patronage.
What is Patronage?
To make a specific Hero stronger, you can assign a Pet as their Patron. The Patron Pet gives bonus stats and grants an additional Patronage Skill to a Hero. Later you can always change this Hero, if you want!
By the way, Patronage will work even if the Patron Pet is not active in the battle. For example, you can take Merlin to battle, and he will cast his Active Skills. Meanwhile, if there are Heroes in your team with other Pets as their Patrons, they will still take advantage of Patronage Effects.
A pet can become a Patron and give your Hero bonus stats at the Blue rank, and its additional Patronage Skill is unlocked at the Violet rank.
How to get and level up Pets?
Before you go on your first Adventure, you’ll be able to choose a Pet that will join your team. After that, to receive the resources to summon and upgrade Pets you’ll need to complete Adventures. The mechanics to upgrade Pets will be familiar to you:
To summon and evolve Pets, you’ll need to collect their Soul Stones. You can get them from Adventures chests or by opening Pet Summoning Eggs at the Summoning Tree.
To level up Pets, use Pet Potions.
To promote Pets’ ranks, collect magic stones that are similar to Heroes’ equipment. However, you’ll need to charge them with Chaos Particles which can be found in Adventures. By the way, if you’ve got some extra Chaos Particles, you may use them to buy missing items for your Pets!
