Increasing the number of stars

In order to determine which of your heroes needs stars upgraded, you need to choose your tactics and synergy strategy for your team.

1. To increase the number of stars, you need to collect a certain number of hero shards. 

2. Once you have collected the required number of shards, click Upgrade in the hero menu. 

Gold stars from 1 to 5 have a 100% chance to upgrade. Red stars have less of a chance to upgrade, and the more red stars you have, the less likely you will be to get the next one. If you enchant unsuccessfully, the hero shards disappear, and you may lose your previous red star. 

Chan Enchanting Rune Increases the chance of successful enchantment. You can earn runes for placing 1st-3rd in the competitive season, or purchase them for real money. These runes increase your chance of successful enchantment, but realistically it will not be more than 90-95%.

Ensi Enchanting Rune Eliminates the risk of critical failure when sharpening and allows you to save your current red stars. These runes can be purchased for real money.

Hero priority for increasing stars

Increasing the number of hero stars increases HP and damage dealt by main attacks and abilities. Based on this, there are several priorities for different groups of heroes. 

Your highest priority is heroes who have a high chance of dying before the first cast. If this happens, they can't fill their role or can only partially fill it, putting all your carefully planned battle tactics at risk. 

Heroes who deals the most damage in the team, especially during cast or mass attacks, have high priority. 

Low priority goes to heroes on the front line of defense, who fill the tank role or can potentially fill it. 

Very low priority goes to heroes who perform other functions, including control, and don't fit into any of the points above.

Conclusion: you don't have to increase the number of stars equally for all heroes. You should focus on those heroes who are more important for you in a particular role in battle. Low priority heroes may very well have 1-3 fewer stars.
