Spring is here again and it’s time for this year’s Fishing Tournament. Gus is hoping you have all the bait and tackle you need for you are going to face some very ardent county folks in the competition.

Get ready to compete by building the Fishing Tournament Shack and Tournament Fishing Spot in your farm. You will be in competition with other farmers for the top spot! There is also the challenge to beat your own personal score while you are competing with them. Aim high and get top scores to win a baby Swabian Hall Pig, Amber Shovel and trophies!

If you are level 15 or higher, the “The Spring Fishing Tournament!” popup will appear. Click on the “Place Building” button to begin the feature.

Start building by collecting all the materials you need.

Next, ask your friends for help or hire builders.

The finished Fishing Tournament Shack, which you can place anywhere in your farm, will look like this:

And the finished Tournament Fishing Spot, which is automatically placed in the river, will look like this:

For this tournament, you will be catching Cod, Salmon, Pike, and Sturgeon in four different parts of the river. Each of these fish belongs to a different weight category.

Groundbait

The parts of the river must first be prepared before you can go fishing. You can prepare the area by using Groundbait. Click on the “Prep Area” button to proceed.

You can get Groundbait by crafting them. There are 3 Groundbaits that you can craft: Catch 3 Fish using Premium Groundbait, Catch 2 Fish using Special Groundbait, and Catch 1 Fish using Basic Groundbait.

Start crafting if you have the complete ingredients you need by clicking on the Make button. Do not worry if you lack the materials as there are easy ways to get them. For the bait, you can harvest fertilized water crops. While you can ask friends for help or buy the Green Lipped Mussels, Organic Emmer Flour, and grow Wax Currants.

There is a waiting period before the Groundbait is crafted. Take note that each fishing area differs in the amount of time it takes to craft the Groundbait.

While waiting, you can prepare another fishing area.

After the Groundbait is crafted, you can proceed to fish by clicking on the “Go Fishing” button.

Tournament Point Scores

By using a Premium Groundbait you are able to catch 3 fishes. These fish will be weighed to get the total Tournament Point Scores.

Keep track of how many Tournament Point Scores you have earned so far, check the meter on the lower left portion of the menu.

The points you earn will fill up the milestone meter and you’ll get rewards when you reach specific milestones. The yellow bar will mark your progress.

Keep collecting points and once you have earned 85 Tournament Point Scores, you are then qualified to join the Spring Fishing Tournament!

Spring Fishing Tournament

When you get 85 Tournament Point Scores, the Scoreboard will be added at the upper left  portion of the menu. You’ll be able to see the top three players in the tournament. To see details, click on the “View More” button.

The overall ranking of farmers in the tournament is on the left side of the menu. The top three farmers at the end of the tournament will get rewards.

View your personal score on the right side of the Scoreboard. The list shows the points you’ve earned for each type of fish you caught in the tournament. Get the highest points for each fish to win rewards!

Ragworms

Upon joining the tournament, you’ll be rewarded with Ragworms.

You can use Ragworms to lure larger fish so you earn more tournament points.

Make use of the Ragworms wisely as they last for only 24 hours.

You can attract even larger fish by upgrading the Ragworms.
