The county folks are all excited to find out who will win the Winter Fishing Tournament. So, prepare your bait and get ready to hook the biggest catch this year! Join the competition by building the Fishing Tournament Shack and Tournament Fishing Spot on your farm. You will be competing with other farms for the top spot. Fish like you really mean it to win a baby Red Northern River Otter, Amber Shovel and trophies!

If you are level 15 or higher, the “The Winter Fishing Tournament” popup will appear. Click on the “Place Building” button to begin this feature.

To build the shack and fishing area, you must first collect all the materials you need.

Next, ask your friends for help or hire builders.

The finished Fishing Tournament Shack, which you can place anywhere on your farm, will look like this:

And the finished Tournament Fishing Spot, which is automatically placed in the river, will look like this:

To start the tournament, click on the Fishing Area. There are four types of fish that you can catch in the different parts of the river: Cod, Salmon, Pike, and Sturgeon. When making a choice of which fish to catch, please note that each fish belongs to a different weight category.

Groundbait

Before you can go fishing in any part of the river, you must first prepare the area. To prepare the area, you’ll be using Groundbait. Click on the Prep Area button to proceed

You can get Groundbait by crafting them. There are 3 Groundbaits that you can craft: Premium Groundbait, Special Groundbait, and Basic Groundbait. Note that each Groundbait will help you catch a different number of fish. Premium Groundbait catches 3 fish, Special Groundbait catches 2 fish, and Basic Groundbait catches 1 fish.

Do not worry if you are in need of materials for crafting bait as there are easy ways to get them. You can harvest fertilized water crops to get Bait. You can ask friends for help or buy the Cured Fish Roe and Grasshopper Bait, and you can grow Bitter Apples.

There is a waiting time before you can make use of the Groundbait that you’ve crafted. Note that each Fishing Area differs in the amount of time it takes to prepare.

You can prepare another Fishing Area while waiting.

Once the Groundbait is ready and the Fishing Area is prepared, you can proceed to fish by clicking on the Go Fishing button.

Tournament Point Scores

By using a Premium Groundbait, you can catch three fish. These fish will be weighed to get the total Tournament Point Scores

Keep track of how many Tournament Points you have earned by checking the meter at the lower left portion of the menu.

You start getting rewards when you reach specific milestones. The yellow bar will mark your progress.

When you have collected 100 Tournament Points, you will qualify to join the Winter Fishing Tournament!

When you have earned 100 Tournament Point Scores, you will qualify for the Winter Fishing Tournament.

The Scoreboard will be added in the upper left portion of the menu. Here, you’ll see the top three players in the tournament. To see details, click on the View More button.

The overall ranking of farmers in the tournament can be seen to the left side of the Scoreboard. The top three farmers at the end of the tournament will get rewards.

On the right side of the Scoreboard, you can view your personal score. This list shows the points you’ve earned for each type of fish you’ve caught in the tournament. Get the highest points for each fish to win rewards!

Ragworms

Upon joining the tournament, you’ll be rewarded with Ragworms.

You can use Ragworms to lure larger fish so you earn more Tournament Points.

These Ragworms will last for only 24 hours so use them wisely.
