Summer is finally here and county folk are flocking to the river! The warm weather is just perfect for fishing and Gus is inspired to host a fun Summer Fishing Tournament! You’re invited too, of course! Get your gear ready and join the rest of the county at the Appaloosa River!

Build the Fishing Tournament Shack and Tournament Fishing Spot on your farm. You can then challenge other farmers while also trying to beat your own personal score. Perform well in the tournament and you’ll win a baby Copper Smooth Coated Otter, Amber Shovel and trophies!

If you are level 15 or higher, “The Summer Fishing Tournament!” popup will appear. Click on the “Place Building” button to begin this feature.

To build the Shack, you must first collect the materials you need.

Then, ask your friends for help or hire builders. 

The finished Fishing Tournament Shack, which you can place anywhere in your farm, will look like this: 

While the Tournament Fishing Spot is now automatically placed in the river. 

In this tournament, you’ll be catching four types of fish: Cod, Salmon, Pike, and Sturgeon. Take note that each fish belongs to a different weight category and can be caught in different parts of the river. 

Groundbait

Before you can go fishing in any of the parts of the river, you need to prepare them first. You can prepare an area by using Groundbait which can lure the fish. Learn more about Groundbaits by clicking on the Prep Area button. 

How do you get Groundbait? You can get this item by crafting it. There are three types of Groundbait to craft: Catch 3 Fish using Premium Groundbait, Catch 2 Fish using Special Groundbait, and Catch 1 Fish using Basic Groundbait.

If you have the ingredients for Groundbait, start crafting them by clicking on the Make button. However, do not worry if there are ingredients that you lack. You can collect bait by harvesting fertilized water crops. You can ask friends for help or buy the Bag of Red Chickpeas, Peanut Butter Powder, and harvest Red Veined Sorrels. 

There is a waiting time for the Groundbait to be made before you can use it. Take note that each fishing area differs in the amount of time it takes to craft the Groundbait. 

ou can make use of the waiting time by preparing another area. 

When the Groundbait is crafted, you can proceed to fish by clicking on the Go Fishing button. 

Tournament Point Scores

By using a Premium Groundbait, you were able to catch three Cod. These fish will be weighed to get your Tournament Point Scores. 

You can keep track of your Tournament Point Scores by checking the counter on the lower left portion of the menu.

You start getting rewards when you reach specific milestones. The yellow bar will mark your progress. 

Keep earning points and once you’ve collected the minimum qualifying score of 90, you can now compete in the Summer Fishing Tournament!

Summer Fishing Tournament

When you qualify for the tournament, the Scoreboard will be added in the upper left portion of the menu. This is where you can check the top three players in the tournament. To see details, click on the View More button

You can see on the left, the overall ranking of the competitors in the tournament. Get to the top three of the rankings to receive rewards.

On the right side, you can see your personal score. The record shows the points you’ve earned for each type of fish you caught in the tournament. Get the highest points for each fish to win rewards! 

Ragworms

Once you qualified for the tournament, you’ll be rewarded with Ragworms.

Ragworms can help you get more tournament points by luring larger fish.

Make use of Ragworms wisely as they last for only 24 hours.
